Massachusetts State House
Massachusetts State House
This photo was taken at the Massachusetts State House in Boston, Massachusetts (located on Beacon Hill, facing Beacon Street). In Evan's right hand is the camera case--likely the case in the Heritage Museum (basement room).
The prominent golden dome, red brick facade, white Corinthian columns, and arched front entrance are iconic to the original Charles Bulfinch design of the Massachusetts State House. On the stone wall along the steps directly behind the three people, you can read the engraved inscription: "LIBERTY MALL DEDICATED OCTOBER 24, 1917 TO OUR SOLDIERS AND SAILORS IN THE GREAT WAR" (Liberty Mall was dedicated on the east side of the State House grounds in October 1921 to honor those who served in World War I).
