Mormon Headquarters Are Established Here

A recent change of headquarters of the Massachusetts District Missionaries has taken place since the release of Elder Dee C. Bingham, who for the past two years has been a self-supporting representative of the Mormon church, in the east, primarily in this State.

The changing of the headquarters was due to the centralized condition of this city, and the success that was obtained by exhibition of the Mormon booth at the Brockton Fair.

Missionary work of the spreading of the gospel, as they call it, is carried on differently than in Christian churches, as they believe in preaching the gospel without charge. Those who participate are self-supporting and are called from nearly every walk of life to spend from two to three years entirely devoted to the spreading of the message of the restoration of the gospel.

The new district president to succeed Elder Bingham as head of the work in Massachusetts, is Elder Harden D. Young of Vernal, Utah. Elder Young is a near relative of Brigham Young. He is being assisted in the work here by Elder Evan P. Call, who comes from western Wyoming. The elders report the work here progressing rapidly and they will remain indefinitely. They are residing at present at 145 West Elm street.
