Historical Context

This article documents a district conference of the Eastern States Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, held in late spring of 1932. The three sessions mentioned—Boston, New Bedford, and Fall River—represent the historical hubs of the Massachusetts District. New Bedford and Fall River, in particular, were bustling industrial port cities during this era, making them active, distinct areas of focus for the missionaries' proselytizing and community outreach in the early 1930s.
