Dear Spess,
How are you faring, you and Bob. I’ll bet that you’ll be glad when Summer comes and you can get out without rubbers and coats.
We are having stormy weather here too. Last night I had to get up and close the windows as it was pouring in on the floor. One can never tell when it is going to rain around here. It has been coming down in torrents all morning. I have to hurry to New
Bedford this afternoon so I hope it lets up by then.
The water here is not as good as your water home. It's very hard and lots of people have gall stones around here. One of the friends I met tracting here, whom I visit once in a while showed me one about an inch in diameter which she had taken from her. The water is very hard on my hair and makes it dry and brittle when I wash it.
Tell Bob thanks for his letter and to write again. Tell him to eat lots of vegetables and crusts to grow up big by the time I come home.
(Written vertically in the right margin):
With love,
Evan
