This note, dated July 1933, was written by Evan's sister Rosa "Vivian" (Call) Bagley.
She mentions a church-wide competition. In the 1930s, the church held massive annual competitions in Salt Lake City for dance, drama, and speech, drawing winners from all over the country to perform during June Conference.

My dear Brother,
I’m a little nearer home tonight, and I’m on my way. Nate and his girl brought us here, we are to meet Rodney Barnes in the morning and he will take us home.
Evan guess who I was on a party with last night. Nedra Nelson, do you remember her? She was a missionary
companion to Nate’s girl Ruth Hudson. Maybe you’ve heard of her she is also from your mission although she has been home a couple of years.
Nedra’s won the road show skit won out in the church wide contest this year. We had quite a group of M.I.A. all church winners. A girl
from Oregon who won the dance contest last year, and trained the couple who won this year. A Bagley field-winner of the M man speech a year or so ago, and Nedra is a dance winner of a year or so ago.
Most of the group were missionaries. It was quite interesting after conference yesterday
all of the missionaries met out by the South entrance to the temple grounds and every one met every one else—its a small world after all isn’t it?
Evan do you know Hardin Young? There seems to be some sort of an understanding between him and Nedra, secret engagement or something—
it is supposed to be entirely a secret I understood. Its quite inspiring to me this missionary fellowship, etc.
It will be nice for you to meet all of these missionaries when you get home at conference.
