This note, dated August 4, 1933, was written by Evan's mother Ethel, from Afton, Wyoming. Evan was on his way home! Surely Ethel was ecstatic to see her son after two long years! Evan drove his Model A Ford home, by way of Chicago and the World Fair. He spent two nights in the Northern States mission home before continuing on.

Dear Evan,
Dad is not able to leave at all the job he has now, but Reuel says he has to have the truck in Salt Lake on Monday. Now if I can possibly come down with him I want to do it but cannot be right sure. If we come we will be there Monday and if I cannot—Reuel will get in touch with you.
According to your letter you are now on your third day from Chicago. I can’t feature it at all such a long distance. Hope you have company. Will come if I can. Love Mother.
